| Voluntary Norfolk is the largest voluntary sector infrastructure
organisation in Norfolk. They support the work of voluntary and community
organisations through a range of free and paid-for services and by providing
a voice for the voluntary and community sector within key partnerships
in the county.
Voluntary Norfolk also promotes volunteering by managing the Great Yarmouth
Volunteer Centre and a network of community volunteer co-ordinators based
in local health premises. They also manage a range of specialist volunteer
services, including advocacy and befriending services.
Voluntary Norfolk manages the WNF Small Grants Programme.
WNF Small Grants Programme
Working Neighbourhoods Fund, in partnership with Voluntary Norfolk, launched
a small grant programme on Wednesday 09 September 2009. The WNF Small
Grants has £100,000 per financial year available to enable voluntary and
community groups to tackle worklessness and low levels of skills and enterprise
in Great Yarmouth. The fund is expected to run until March 2011. The next
funding round deadline is: Monday 1 February 2010 at 1700
Additional objectives:
• To offer organisations which were unable to access or were unsuccessful
in the wider WNF commissioning, the opportunity to access funds.
• To develop a partnership culture in delivering the outcomes of the programme.
• To be shaped and designed to meet local need.
• To enable organisations to impact on Local Area Agreement priorities.
There are two grant bands available:
BAND 1: Organisations with an annual turnover up to £100,000 can
apply for a grant of £1,000 to £5,000.
BAND 2: Organisations with an annual turnover between £100,000
and £200,000 which works in partnership with a smaller organisation (annual
turnover £50,000) can apply for a grant of £5,000 to £10,000.
