| Local Area Agreement
The Local Area Agreement (LAA) is a three year agreement between the Government
and a local authority on behalf of its partners, to deliver a series of
outcomes, indicators and targets aimed at delivering improved services.
The LLA is structured around four 'blocks'
• Children and Young People
• Healthier Communities and Older People
• Safer and Stronger Communities
• Economic Development
The voluntary and community sector has two very important roles to play
in the development of the LAA. Firstly as a key partner to be consulted
and involed in decision-making, and secondly as potential delivery partner.
The VCS has identified a strategic role for itself in the development
of the LAA and has established a reference group, led by Voluntary Norfolk,
that is negotiating the priorities and targets to which the VSC can contribute.
